Thursday, January 29, 2015, 7:00 PM, Fr. Garrigan Rm. for a unique experience in parish leadership training. This training is designed to teach parish ministry leaders how to listen and lead small group conversations that inspire issues, interests, and stories in parish life in order to build deeper relationships, identify concrete issues, and move toward united goals. This training session is a major step toward the St. Basil the Great Parish Conversation Campaign Event on March 7
th.
What is a Parish Conversation? A conversation among 6-10 people that is a part of an institutional strategy for the purpose of sharing stories and concerns, developing relationships within and across ministry groups as a strategy for ministry and parish renewal.
Who Participates? Organizing Team: A team of parish leaders representing a diversity of parish ministries will be developed to organize dates, time, invitations and a turnout plan for the conversation campaign. Small group training will be available for those who wish to facilitate small group conversations at the March 7
th event.
Turnout for the Parish Conversation Campaign Event March 7th This is determined by the Organizing Team but should aim to be as inclusive as possible. All ministry groups should be invited and encouraged to attend as well as the parish at-large in order to invite all those typically on the margins.
The Parish Conversation Campaign is way to renew parish life in which “relationship” is reaffirmed as the source and cause of love of God and love of neighbor.
