Bishop Jaime Soto has been given 100 tickets for the Mass with Pope Francis when the pontiff will be canonizing Blessed Junipero Serra. The outdoor Mass will take place on
Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 4:15 p.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
St. Francis High School in Sacramento, St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Sacramento, St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Burney and St. Clare Parish in Roseville will each receive 10 tickets for parishioners.
The remaining 60 tickets will be given out through a lottery in sets of two. Each name drawn will receive two tickets. Please note that the tickets are ONLY for entrance into the outdoor Mass. The costs and booking of airfare and hotel are the responsibility of the individuals who win the tickets.
To participate in the lottery for two tickets, any parishioner in the Diocese of Sacramento must turn their name with their contact information into their pastor by Monday, Aug. 17. The lottery will be held on the following day, Tuesday, Aug. 18
