The clergy, staff, ministry leaders and I, are pleased to announce the new St Basil The Great Parish website is now online. The trial period is over, the basic applications have been installed, and the website is now "live."
The website committee of Jeremy Mallett, Chuck Durley, and Robert Martinez worked diligently to develop the website that was unveiled this week. They follow in the footstep of other committee members who shared their vision of a new website for our parish. The result of long hours of designing, programming, and many meetings is our new website. It has been hard work, but they tell me it has been a labor of love.
The website is not to be a static page on the web that you look at once, admire for a few moments, and then file it away as just another internet location. "Just another website" it is not! Here you will find the latest news and activities, what is happening in our parish. It is an interactive website with forms for you to write your comments. We will revise, refine, and update the website to better serve you, the faith community of St Basil.
A page has been dedicated for each ministry in our parish and each ministry has been given space to inform you of their goals and ambitions, their events and their photo memories. As each ministry adds their individual special touch to their page, the whole website becomes a meaningful and rich source of information.
I invite you to look at all the website has to offer. From Mass and lector schedules to Catholic news and U-Tube videos, from liturgy and sacrament instruction to clergy blogs and tri-parish initiatives . . . it's all there. And more will be added as you tell us what you want to see. I encourage you to tell us what you think; what could have been included, what could have been done better. And, tell us how you can contribute to make the website a relevant part of our parish life.
