In an effort to protect those most vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus, Bishop Soto is issuing a decree dispensing ALL members of the Catholic faithful from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. This will remain active until further notice. For more information see the Diocesan website. https://www.scd.org/coronavirus/holy-mass
Bishop Soto directed parishes in certain counties to cancel non-essential large gatherings due to COVID-19 through the month of March. St. Basil's has thereby cancelled the following gatherings: Lenten Soup (March 13, 20, 27) ; St. Patrick's Day Dinner (March 14); St. Basil School 70th Anniversary Dinner (March 21). UPDATE: Click the title (above) to see photos from the event. Over 250 people from across Vallejo and Fairfield attended this event! All three Vallejo parishes were well represented in the assembly. If you would like to participate in future meetings, join us February 11th when we go over the stories we heard and decide what to work on! *** Bishop Soto will be at the Common Ground Action to build a better community on Tuesday January 21st here at St. Basil's in the Gym. He was excited to hear how the Catholic community came together this past summer to put faith into action by advocating for the tenants of Strawberry Hills and Holiday Gardens. Together, we will hear and share stories about ourselves and the vulnerable in our community-- seniors, youth, the working poor and homeless. County Supervisors and Vallejo city officials will be there as well. Please join us in making sure St. Basil is well represented! Tuesday, January 21st, Event starts promptly at 6:30 pm. But come early to register and get a good seat. Entertainment begins at 6pm by Holy Spirit Catholic Church Folkloric Dancers and Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Gospel Choir!
