Why are we doing this fund drive?
Our Offertory donations have not kept up with rising operations costs, and our aging buildings continue to need major repairs and maintenance.
Who should participate?
We are looking for all active givers in the Parish to participate. We have about 1,000 active givers in the Parish. If everyone gives an additional $130, we will reach our goal.
How much are we trying to raise?
We are trying to raise $130,000. This will allow us to cover a projected budget shortfall related to our day-to-day expenses (salaries, housekeeping, insurance, utilities, office supplies, etc.), and to set aside funds for facilities repair and maintenance.
I already give weekly or monthly. Do I still need to participate in this fund raiser?
Please do! The amount we are trying to raise is in addition to our weekly Offertory income.
I can’t afford to give $130 all at one time. Can I spread my donations over time?
Yes. This fund-raiser will continue through the end of June, 2025. If everyone gives an additional $14 per month, or about $4 per week, we will meet our goal.
How do I get more envelopes?
Envelopes will be available in the pews at church throughout the giving period, or you can contact the Parish Office to request as many as you need.
Do I have to use the My Parish – My Home envelope for my donation?
No. You can use your own envelope, but please clearly note that it is for “My Parish – My Home”, including noting that on the memo line if you are donating by check. This will allow us to accurately track the amount we receive for this fund drive.
Will any portion of the My Parish – My Home donations be sent to the Diocese?
No. This fund raiser is a special effort at the Parish level, and is not subject to the Diocesan assessment that we pay for our regular weekly Offertory collections.
Are My Parish – My Home donations tax deductible?
Yes, just like all of your monetary donations to St. Basil’s. If you are over 70 ½, you may also be eligible for a Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD) from your retirement account. Your IRA trustee can give you more info if you are interested in this option.
Can I give online through Faith Direct?
Yes. You can donate online using Faith Direct. Existing users can log in and choose “Make a One-Time Gift Now” then click on the “My Parish – My Home” logo. If you would like to sign up for e-giving, go to https://membership.faithdirect.net/CA902, then click “Enroll” at the bottom of the page.
Will there be a 2nd collection for My Parish – My Home?
As of early 2025, there is no plan for a 2nd collection for St. Basil's My Parish - My Home.
