The St. Basil's Prayer Shawl Ministry was established in 1995. We are a group of women who meet together once a month to knit and pray. The mission of the Prayer Shawl Ministry is to knit prayers into shawls for those in need of comfort and support.
To date we have made and distributed over 1,000 scarves for the poor and homeless, and 380 prayer shawls for family and friends.
We have sent packages to Afghan women containing handmade articles, children's clothing, toys and school materials.
We are contributors to Heifer International to supply wool producing animals to women with a Knitter's Gift Basket.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to anyone who would like to gather for prayer and fellowship while continuing the age old practice of knitting and crocheting. Instructions are available.
